Rooms & resource planning

3 min read

schedU honors physical constraints automatically, so you never schedule a chemistry practical into a room without a lab.

Tag your rooms

Give each room a type and a capacity:

  • •Type - lab, hall, computer room, standard classroom, etc.
  • •Capacity - the maximum number of students it holds.

Match subjects to room types

Flag which subjects need which room type. schedU then places those periods only in matching rooms, and never double-books a shared space.

💡 Shared spaces like halls and labs are treated as scarce resources and allocated across all classes that need them.

Indoor and outdoor

Tag a venue Indoor or Outdoor. A playground, field or court is shared: several classes can use it at once, up to its capacity, while an indoor room holds one class at a time. Set a subject to Classroom, Outdoor or Mixed, and PE goes to the ground while its theory lessons stay in a room.
